Valley of Cleveland Golf Classic July 15th The eleventh annual Scottish Rite Golf Classic is July 15th. It’s time to finalize your search for playing partners to participate in the Valley of Cleveland outing. The Classic returns to the east side of Cleveland in 2000. The annual event will be held at Auburn Springs Country Club on Stafford Road in Bainbridge. The Golf Classic will include 18 holes of golf, lunch, a steak dinner, and a host of prizes awarded to some lucky golfers who are closest to the pin, or have the longest drives. The whole event begins with the first tee time at 9:00 am. Last years winner of the 10th annual Scottish Rite Golf Classic was a 2-man team of Bob Berteau and Alan Jones. The group shot a 5 under par. That score tied a team consisting of Joe Levy, Bill McCallum, and Ron Prior who also shot a five under par, but due to Classic tie-breaker rules, the Berteau/Jones team were victorious. The event attracted 69 golfers in 1999. An even greater turn-out is expected for the Millennium event. Chairman of this years event is Glenn Beaver. For information, please call Glenn at (440) 946-5242 or John Youngblood at The Valley of Cleveland office at (216) 432-2370.
