Donations being sought for Disaster Relief Fund

By Ill.·. John H.
Youngblood, 33°

I have received calls from several of our members asking what we are going to do to aid our friends in New York City and Washington, D. C.

You may have heard that the Northern and Southern Jurisdictions of Scottish Rite Masonry have pledged $2,300,000 to the Relief Fund.

The Board of Trustees of the Valley of Cleveland have, in turn, voted to pledge Donations being sought for Disaster Relief Fund$25,000 to assist the Northern Jurisdiction in reaching their part of this goal. The Valley has some money in the Benevolent Fund, but not that much. Please help us reach our goal by contributing what you can.

We know that many members of our Masonic Family were directly affected by this tragedy and I am positive that when these funds are distributed by our Supreme Council, they will be the first to receive consideration.

Please contribute as liberally as your conscience and financial resources will allow. Make checks payable to: Valley of Cleveland Foundation, and mail it to AASR/Valley of Cleveland, 3615 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115. (This is a tax deductible donation.

Deadline for life membership is December 31st

The new dues schedule for the AASR Scottish Rite/Valley of Cleveland will go into effect on January 1, 2002

Dues for membership of the Valley of Cleveland will go up to $45 per year from the present rate of $35 per year.

Also the rate for determining the current life membership table has been completely reworked.

The increase is necessitated by the fact that Supreme Council has raised our per capita dues from $3.00 to $8.50.

In the July/August, 2001 edition of the Scottish Rite News, there was a comparison of life membership today and how it will be after January 1, 2002. The savings are tremedous.

If Life Membership in the valley interests you, please call the secretary’s office at (216) 432-2370 to receive information.
