Medina County Scottish Rite Society meets Nov. 14 in Seville By Russell
Palmateer
The Fall meeting of the Medina County Scottish Rite Society was held November 14th at Seville Lodge. The meeting opened promptly at 7 p.m. There were 40 members, valley officers, and ladies present. As at our March Society meeting, the meal was planned by the O.E.S. Chapter in Seville. Lasagna made in individual containers to keep it hot, meat balls, salad, corn, and breadsticks, topped off with cream puffs made even the hungriest guest full. Our host for the evening was 3rd Vice President, Ill.·. Kenneth DeLaat. His attention to detail did not go unnoticed by the brethren and their ladies. We again had time to visit, tell our usual stories, and wondered at the unusual beautiful weather we are enjoying. All the society officers were present. Ill.·. John Youngblood, 33°, introduced nine past and present valley officers along with their ladies that were in attendance. He explained that most of the valley projects are nearing completion. We were excited to hear about the April 27, 2002 meeting. Brethren, this will be a very big event in Ohio Masonry. Be sure and attend your Blue Lodge to find out what will be happening. Also on that day, a Master Mason can become a Scottish Rite Mason all in one-day. If you know of a suitable candidate, give him a petition. Our entertainment for the evening was Larry Nottingham, a graduate of Ashland University who plays both the regular and classical guitars which he plucks with his fingers. He writes and sings his own music and loves Blue Grass Music. He really has an excellent talent and his program was well-received by the members and guests. It should be noted that Bonnie Youngblood who attended the meeting with her husband John, is the new Grand Warder for O.E.S. We of District Four are very proud of her accomplishments for O.E.S. Also of note is that a recent Past President of our Society, Tim Moore, is the 20th Masonic District’s new District Deputy Grand Master. Congratulations Tim. Brethren, don’t forget the meeting January 23, 2002 in Medina. This is a LADIES EAT FREE meeting. Write this date into your appointment book now so you won’t forget. As usual the time is 7:00 p.m. As an aside, the Medina Masonic Temple has recently refurbished their kitchen and dining room. Come have a look at the work they have done. Our 2nd Vice President, Robert Oden will be our host. He promises some great entertainment. Come and join us for a great time, excellent food, and a terrific program. We hope you all can make an extra special effort to join us on January 23 at the Medina Masonic Temple. Valley of Cleveland
