65th annual Feast of Paschal Lamb presented by Ariel Chapter Rose Croix

Alan W. Jones, Most Wise Master of Ariel Chapter Rose Croix, greets Rev. Gary Kornell, guest speaker at the Annual Feast of the Paschal Lamb Observance.

The 65th observance of the solemn Feast of the Paschal Lamb was presented by the officers of Ariel Chapter, Rose Croix, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland, Palm Sunday, March 24th in the Scottish Rite Auditorium.

Presiding over the impressive Lenten and Passover service was Alan W. Jones, Most Wise Master of Ariel Chapter.

The Memorial Address was presented by Rev. and Dr. Gary Kornell, Pastor of the Old Stone Church in Downtown Cleveland.

His address was centered on Charity and Jesus’ cry “I Thirst” a desperate unanswered call for charity from those gathered at the cross.

He challenged his audience to “Do something beautiful for God through acts of charity.”

The strict attention given to his message was written on the faces of the many guests who attended the service, and according to many, one of the best Memorial addresses ever presented.

Music for the service was provided by Rosalie Gainer on the magnificent Scottish Rite Theater organ, and the Scottish Rite Chorus under the Direction of Chester Willey.

Selections sung by the famed chorus included “The Lord’s Prayer,” “Laudamus”, and “The Prayer from the Crusaders”

The audience participated in the singing of two hymns, “The God of Abraham Praise” and “Fairest Lord Jesus.”

Mrs. Gainer, Past Grand Organist of the Grand Chapter O.E.S. selected two compositions for her portion of the service: The organ Prelude “Arioso” and “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and for the postlude “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Features of the Feast of the Paschal Lamb were the presentation of the significance of the feast and the story of the cross presented by Brother Joseph J. Orosz, Orator of Ariel Chapter, Rose Croix. The orations were delivered with meaning and helped to explain the meaning the Feast of the Paschal Lamb.

The presentation of the Memorial Roll Call in the form of a scroll, contained the names of 229 Scottish Rite brethren who have Passed to the Celestial Lodge Above during the past year. The scroll was presented to the congregation by Ill... Wilbur B. Smith 33°.

The traditional candle lighting ceremony featured each member of the cast extinguishing candles representing the Lights of Wisdom, Truth, Toleration, Faith, Hope, Love, and the Light that never fails. As each candle was extinguished, the room was slowly darkened.

Then each candle was lit again signifying that God’s Light still illumines our world.

The service concluded with Alan W. Jones explaining what the Feast of the Paschal Lamb means to us and the benediction presented by Ill.·. Joseph R. Bako, 33°.

Thank you Al Koran Shrine and Director Paul Lawrence for your contribution.

A reception for Rev. Ayers and the officers of Ariel Chapter, Rose Croix followed the service.

The 2002 Feast of the Paschal Lamb will live in the memories of those in attendance for years to come. It was an excellent presentation by the officers of Ariel Chapter, Rose Croix.

The Feast of the Paschal Lamb is an annual event on the calendar of the Valley of Cleveland. Plan now to attend this impressive program in 2003.
