104th annual meeting of OCD to he
held in Dayton June 7-8; The Valley of Dayton will host the 105th annual Ohio Council of Deliberation statewide meeting on June 7th and 8th in Dayton. The meeting is an annual event on the calendars of the Scottish Rite Valleys in Ohio. A feature of the meeting is the conferring of the coveted Meritorious Service Award upon brethren representing the valleys. The Ohio Council of Deliberation in May 1947, established an award for Meritorious Service of a Masonic character to those worthy of such recognition and who have attained the 32°. This year, the award is limited to two members from the Valley of Cleveland. Nominated to receive the M.S.A. award in the Valley of Cleveland for 2001 were Joseph A. Jambor, a member of Newburg Lodge no. 379, and Walter C. Klein, a Past Master of Denison (now Quarry) Lodge no. 640. They will be inducted at a dinner given in their honor on Friday, June 7.
Several events are being planned for Scottish Rite members who wish to attend the meeting in Dayton. If you wish to attend, see Il... John Youngblood, 33°, Secretary of the Valley of Cleveland and he will see to it that you receive the special Ohio Council of Deliberations packet. Last years M.S.A. recipients for the Valley of Cleveland were Karl F. Horner and Terry R. Mate. Other Living Meritorious Service Award recipients are: Boris Stephanoff, Leonard Kroner, Richard T. Rotzow, Edward E. Eiborg, Edwin F. VanOver, Ralph C. Sievert, J. Robert Jay, Claude A. Pitman, James S. DeVitis, Floyd V. Weitzel, John S. Boyle, Donald R. Oliver, Jesse A. McCready, Theodore R.
