Valley of Cleveland holds Spring 2002 reunion;
326 candidates receive more light in Masonry

The Scottish Rite in The Valley of Cleveland, held the Spring 2002 Reunion in the Cleveland Masonic Center auditorium April 27. The Valley of Cleveland spring class of 326 candidates viewed the beautiful and perfectly staged 32nd degree in Scottish Rite Masonry.

Due to time constraints, the ‘A section of the 32nd degree featured a minimum of introductions. Those presented to the Spring 2002 Class of candidates included visitors from other valleys and dignitaries from other Masonic Bodies including the Past Commanders of Lake Erie Consistory; Robert J. Draye, James Gillahan, Harvey S. Morrison and Jerry J. Brove, District Deputy Grand Masters of the 22nd Masonic District; Robert J. Homoly, District Deputy Grand Master of the 25th Masonic District; Ill... Glenn L. Beaver, 33°, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Valley of Cleveland; and Robert J. Hibjan, 33°Deputy’s Representative for the State of Ohio in the Valley of Cleveland.

The register indicated that there were 78 brethren who were already masons taking the 32nd degree and 248 members of the Grand Master’s one-day Class of Masonic degree candidates taking an additional step in their Masonic education.

Music for the 32nd degree presentation was provided by Rev. Gary Streiff who played appropriate music that added a degree of solemnity to the 32nd degree, and Chester W. Willey directing the Scottish Rite chorus and audience in “The Star Spangled Banner”, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “God Bless America”.

 The Valley of Cleveland will next present the Degrees of the Scottish Rite on November 22nd and 23rd.
