 Supreme Council N.M.J. annual meeting
September 1-4 in Boston
Art Quade and Brad A. Goebel to receive 33rd degree

Boston will be the site of this year’s annual meeting for the Scottish Rite Supreme Council for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. More than 2000 Thirty-third Degree Masons and their ladies from 15 northeastern states are expected at the meeting on September 1-4. The Supreme Council last met in Boston in 1996

The 2002 Session will be highlighted by the conferral of the organization’s Thirty-third Degree upon 136 Scottish Rite Masons, including Bradford A. Goebel and Arthur G. Quade from the Valley of Cleveland, who were elected for this high honor at last year’s meeting in Indianapolis. The Thirty-third Degree is awarded for outstanding achievement in the fraternity or for significant contributions to others, reflecting credit on Freemasonry. The impressive ceremony will take place on Tuesday, September 3, in the John Hancock Hall.

Introductory luncheons honoring the Thirty-third Degree candidates and their ladies will be on the schedule for Sunday noon.

The larger-scale events will begin on Sunday afternoon, September 1, when the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Copely Place Hotel will be the scene of the traditional Supreme Council Vesper Service. It is expected that prominent leaders from other Masonic organizations in the United States and throughout the world will be in attendance.

The 2002 meeting will conclude with the announcement of the names of those elected to receive the Thirty-third Degree in St. Louis, Missouri in 2003.
