A.A.S.R. Valley of
Cleveland Give the
Petition
to your friend The Valley of Cleveland will confer the degrees of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite upon the Spring 2003 Class of Candidates April 26, 2003 in the Cleveland Masonic Center 3615 Euclid Avenue. The One-day class is named in honor of Illustrious Glenn J. Bollinger, 33°, Past Sovereign Prince of Bahurim Council, Princes of Jerusalem. Degrees to be conferred at the one-day reunion class will include the 14th degree, “Grand Elect Mason” which is a degree that is the summit of Ancient Craft Masonry. It is the Crowning degree of Eliadah Lodge of Perfection, and will be presided over by Edwin A. Strauss, Jr. Thrice Potent Master. This degree teaches that “ essence is the holiness of God and reverence for His Holy Name. God will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Also scheduled for the Glenn J. Bollinger Class of candidates is the Bahurim Council, 16th degree entitled “Prince of Jerusalem...a degree “ that teaches loyalty to truth and fidelity to duty.” The presentation of the degree will have Robert R. Childers, Sovereign Prince of Bahurim Council, Princes of Jerusalem, presiding. The 18th Degree of Rose Croix will be the beautiful “Knight of the Rose Croix”, with Alan W. Jones, Most Wise Master presiding. The lesson taught in this degree is “ that man must have a new temple in his heart where God is worshiped in spirit and in truth and the new law of love which all men everywhere may understand and practice. This degree affirms the broad principal of universality and tolerance.” Completing the presentation of Scottish Rite Degrees is the 32nd degree, “Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret”. The degree describes the spiritual over the human and the conquest of appetites and passions by moral sense and reason. The Exemplar of this degree represents every Freemason eager to serve humanity but is caught between self-interest and the call of duty that often requires sacrifice, sometimes the supreme sacrifice. The pageantry of The Degrees of the Scottish Rite is unsurpassed by any other valley. Come and see the best work there is in ritual and support your officers who work hard in maintaining the quality of work in the Valley. We especially invite back the members of the Grand Master’s Class of Spring 2002, and the members of the Ill... Everett W. Allen, 33°, Class of Fall Candidates to this reunion to renew their commitment to Scottish Rite Masonry. Also we invite you to give a petition to the new members of the Grand Masters’ Class of 2003 held in March. We still have time to act on a petition, but hurry. A petition is available to make your endeavor easier. It’s only one day brethren. Make the most of it at the Valley of Cleveland 2003 Scottish Rite Union honoring Ill... Glenn J. Bollinger, 33°. * * * A Continental Breakfast of juice, pastry, donuts, coffee and tea will be served to early rising brethren beginning at 7:00 a.m. Come early and greet the new candidates and renew friendships you may have made years ago. We’ll be expecting you. Don’t disappoint us. Spring Reunion lunch tickets now available
