Bodenstein, 33° As you read this article, we are all contemplating the annual change of seasons. Your Learning Center can look back on a very successful and active summer session. We had a full census culminating in the graduation of five students in August. All of our brethren should stand a little taller knowing that the students who graduated this summer have received a gift of learning that will last them throughout their life and will raise their self-esteem to a level they could not imagine. At this printing, we have not yet received the total money generated by our benefactor, Victor Frederick, who rode his motorcycle through 49 states in order to raise the awareness of our Scottish Rite Learning Centers throughout the country and especially in the stops he made in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. Next year the plans are on the drawing board to have Worshipful Brother Frederick make his tour throughout the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction stopping at all of our Learning Centers that are on line. Another function is a Walkathon tentatively to be held in the Summer of 2004. This will give every Masonic brother a chance to support our Learning Center while at the same time, promote healthy walking and friendship. A date and location will be announced as soon as the details are completed. Our fall session will undoubtedly have a full census as we have brought several new tutors on board to take care of our ever growing group of students. Your Learning Center is always in need of volunteers to give a couple of hours of your time once or twice a week. As our lodges become active this month, why not make it a goal of your lodge to support a youngster in your Learning Center for one year at a cost of $5000. In order to take the burden off this large outlay of cash, two or three lodges could go together and make it a group effort to support a child. The rewards you will receive is the knowledge that you made a change in someone’s life that will last a lifetime. It is impossible for me to thank individually all the brethren and their ladies who took part in the breakfast reception for Victor Frederick when he made his stop in Cleveland, as well as the ladies and brethren who assisted is our graduation ceremony. Thank You to all! In closing, I would like to remind you of our Learning Center ties. The colors are red, blue, and the newest color maroon. They are available at the Scottish Rite Office. 32° Masonic Learning Center The 32°
