Night Flight is the largest ensemble from within the Concert Band. This 20 piece jazz ensemble combines the best in traditional and contemporary big band jazz. Night Flight performs for official military ceremonies and social functions, and for community concerts and festivals throughout the Midwest.

The members are chosen from the 45 member concert band that performed here last year.

They have performed at national and international festivals and conferences with such noted jazz artists as Al Vizutti, Rob McConnell, and Arturo Sandoval. Outstanding charts written and arranged by Night Flight personnel and the world’s leading jazz composers provide a framework for their exciting performances.

Air Force bands have grown from a humble beginning to world-wide status. The bands have come a long way. Throughout World War II, the bands of the Army Air Corps contributed significantly in supporting the morale of our troops. The bands have continued to inspire esprit de corps in our airmen, patriotism in our citizenry, and respect from people of all nations.

The United States Air Force Band of Flight, is Commanded by Lt. Colonel Alan C. Sierichs. It is stationed in Dayton, Ohio. Since its founding, the band has traveled over 100,000 miles each year performing to presidents, visiting heads of state, members of Congress and millions of U. S. and Foreign Citizens.
